It is observed that Importers & Exporters look at Country of Origin
Certificate as one of the commercial documents exchanged between buyer &
seller. There is little realization that a good knowledge on this =

can lead to lot of savings in Transaction Cost of Export and Landed Cost =

Import for Importers & Exporters, particularly while importing & =
exporting
to and from countries under FTA and PTA arrangement.=20

With this end in view the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of
India, while announcing FTP, 2015-20 made provision to enable the =
Exporters
& Importers to issue Certificates themselves instead of approaching =
Chamber
of Commerce and EIA for the purpose.=20

To achieve above objective, the Government of India has announced a =
radical
step to enable the Exporters & Importers to issue the certificates
themselves.=20

Prescribed guidelines have been formulated on September 19th, 2019.=20

Why Iran? :- The name of Iran is the Modern Persian derivative from the
Proto-Iranian term Ary=E2n=E2, meaning "Land of the Aryans". It is a =
country
with population of over 10 crores, which shares long historical ties =

India.
Post USA sanctions on doing business with Iran, the European countries =
and
other countries have imposed wide ranging sanctions on doing business =
with
Iran. However, the Government of India has not accepted these sanctions =
and
therefore continues to do business with Iran. Since Europe and USA =
sanctions
blocked Dollar and Euro routs for payment, India and Iran have found a =

media of trading in Rupee through the UCO Bank.
Due to lack of competition for Indian Exporters, Iran is a lucrative =
market
for Consumer Goods, Industrial Intermediate and Industrial Goods. Iran =
is a
lucrative market for Pharmaceuticals, Food, Engineering Goods, Chemicals =
and
Automobile Parts.
